Ya know... we pride ourselves in a lot of aspects of how we design and engineer pieces here in our shop. We do our best to think of multiple solutions and paths to complete whatever job we take. Our confidence is healthy, grounded in reality but sometimes, like anyone else, we bite off more than we can chew.
We may never attempt to TRIPLE finish a piece like this. Bottom-up: Oil Rubbed Bronze, Old Brass, Antique Brass.
Now, they turned out great and they matched beautifully which typically is the biggest hurdle especially when you have a +40 lb piece that requires delicately timed dipping into solutions.
We think we got lucky. The ease of finishing these two made us raise an eyebrow.
But we know better than to look a gift finish in the grain...
